1.  When sodium is added to the water (such as when a water softener is used), anode rods can corrode more quickly. Water softeners can help reduce sediment, but anodes can corrode in as little as six months if the water is over-softened.

2.  Waiting too long to inspect and replace an anode rod is not a good idea. The possibility of the old water heater anode rod becoming broken off, and then falling to the bottom of the water heater (and then bouncing around whenever water travels inside the water heater) is what will deteriorate the water heater tank lining very quickly. This will cause cracks in the glass lining of the water heater radically shortening the life of the water heater. Having a depleted anode rod and not replacing your water heater anode rods in a timely fashion WILL shorten the life span of your water heater.

Having issues with my new water heater made by AO Smith. Called Done Right Rooter and Plumbing and John came out and got the heater up and running. Seems there is a design flaw in all new water heaters, he was able to quickly fix it and I waited several weeks before posting this review.... It is running like a charm!

The service was free because it was under warranty and John was very helpful, he gave me great suggestions on extending the life of the water heater. Apparently all the water heaters are having issues with the new emmisions rules in California.

If you are having problems call Done Right they represent the manufacturer and do an amazing job!

My water heater broke down yesterday. Since the heater was still under warranty (6 year warranty expiring in March 2011) I called the heater manufacturer and they gave me the number for Done-Right.

I had a plumbing emergency when my hot water heater (in my attic) went bad and was leaking into my ceiling. Done Right had their team over within an hour of my call and successfully removed the old one (no small task given it was in the attic!) and replaced it with a brand new one. My system was not an ordinary hot water heater, it was an Apollo HydroHeat system which apparently scares other plumbers away. Not Done Right!. They were professional, on time, well prepared and did a fantastic job. I unfortunately have had my fair share of plumbing issues and these guys are by far the most knowledgeable and professional plumbers I have ever dealt with. I won't use anyone else ever again!

We had a water heater leak. John the technician came and detected the problem and quickly resolved it. He was very professional, showing up on time and explained the problem thoroughly. He was very honest and very helpful. Now we have hot water! YAY!

These guys are freaking AMAZING!  I had a hot water heater go out so I called them up.  The owner Burt was very nice and professional.  The morning of they were running a bit late and Burt called me to tell me about it.  People sometimes run late, its no big deal, but I rarely get a call to let me know about it.  The fact that he would call me up and apologize several times really meant a lot.

The technician, John, came out.  The guy was an ABSOLUTE pro.  He immediately diagnosed the problem and had the heater back up and running.  Then he took the time to show me how to service the heater so I could get more mileage out of it. I really can't remember the last time I have had such a pleasant customer support experience and I really can't recommend them highly enough.  Definitely ask for John.  This guy knows more about water heaters than Lance Armstrong knows about cycling.

John arrived at the scheduled time and diagnosed the problem right away, it was a bad thermocoupler that needed to be replaced. It took him around 30 minutes to replace the part and he also cleaned out the flame arrestor area at the base of the heater.

John could answer any question I had for him with detailed answers, very impressive! He increased my limited understanding of how these heaters work, thanks John.

K.  Water Heater Repairs

K-1. We service A.O. Smith, State, Apollo, American, Whirlpool water heaters and Takagi Tankless only. 

K-2. We schedule the repairs based on first come, first served.  All customers who are without hot water will be serviced as soon as possible. 

K-3.  Landlords must be present for repair when labor is not covered by the manufacture.

K-4.  Payment is due upon receipt. We accept checks, cash or credit cards.  We do not invoice.

K-5.  When the technician shows up as scheduled, and customer is not present, the job will be rescheduled.  However, before re-scheduling, a trip charge needs to be acquired over the phone to cover our original appointment.

K-6.  We DO NOT perform water heater swop outs that are covered under the manufacture's warranty period.

K-7. WE DO NOT service any Takagi tankless or A.O. Smith tankless UNLESS the unit has been installed over one year.

K-8.  We do not sale water heater parts.  We reserve these parts for customers who call for service.

K-9.  We provide 30 day warranty on labor.
