Before trenchless came, Repair or replacement of the sewer line entailed digging a trench from the house to the back of sidewalk.  It included laying plastic down and then lots of plywood for a temporary place to store the soil for 2 – 3 days while making repair or replacing the sewer line.

Now the advance technology of pulling a new pipe through the old pipe is more cost effective and faster.  As one can see in the video, only two holes are dug.  Each hole is 4 ft. x 4 ft.  Landscaping and hard surfaces such as driveway and sidewalks are saved.
